Wildlife sanctuaries of western India are special areas dedicated to the protection of wild species. They also serve as tourism products of the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. Some of these sanctuaries are Thol Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary and Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. Tiger reserves in India strive to attain success in preserving tiger population in the country. Project Tiger is a conservation programme, under which the Indian tiger reserves are administered. Some of these reserves are Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, Sunderbans Tiger Reserve, Kanha Tiger Reserve and Periyar Tiger Reserve. Wildlife sanctuaries of eastern India provide protection to plants, animals, birds, etc in the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. It is the only forest reserve in Rajasthan and in the entire Aravali Hill Range, where wild Bengal tigers still exist. Other species found in the reserve are leopard, sloth bear, nilgai, etc. National parks of east India play an important role in the preservation of a variety of plants, animals, birds, reptiles, etc in the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. Some of these national parks are Valmiki National Park, Sundarbans National Park and Hazaribagh National Park. The Gardens of India preserves not only the indigenous floral species but conserves many exotic species of plants. National Parks of Meghalaya form a park of the places of attraction in the state. Gardens of Jaipur are ideal retreats for tourists and nature lovers who want to watch various facets of Mother Nature. It has many blossoming gardens, some are natural and some are artificial. National parks of north India are involved in the preservation of flora and fauna in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Some of the national parks of north India are Hemis National Park, Rajaji National Park and Dudhwa National Park. National parks of south India are areas dedicated to the protection of animals, plants, birds, etc of the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. National Parks of West India includes Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar, Chandoli National Park, Darrah National Park, Desert National Park, Gir Forest National Park, Gugamal National Park, Harike Wetland, Keoladeo National Park, Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, Navegaon National Park, Sariska Tiger Reserve, Tadoba National Park. The state of Uttarakhand is blessed with a number of National Parks, which provide protection to floral and faunal population in the state. National Parks of Assam are protected areas maintained to provide shelter to the flora and flora in the state. Keibul Lamjao National Park was established on 28th of March, 1977 in Manipur. It is spread over an area of about 40 square kilometers. Bannerghatta National Park is near Bangalore where safaris will help the tourists in exploring the national park.
