Planning Commission in India, established in 1950, is an institution of the Government of India, which formulates the 5 year plans for the country. Public Service Commissions in India includes members, appointed by the Government of India, both in the civil and military branches of administration. National Commission for Women is the apex National body which was formed with the mandate of promoting and protecting the interests of women. University Grants Commission or the UGC is a statutory body of the Government of India which looks after the proper growth and spread of higher education in the country. The position was created with the intent to enhance accountability of the executive to the Parliament and State Legislatures by carrying out audits in the public sector and providing accounting services in the states in accordance with the Constitution of India and laws. Rashtriya Vikas Parishad helps in the co ordination of the policies and programmes of the five year plans. It deals with matters of vital national importance and works towards their resolution. Union Public Service Commission is responsible for the recruitment of the various civil servants in the country and it conducts various examinations for this purpose. |
